Open Sovereign AI Federation

Building the open foundation for sovereign AI.

OSAF — the Open Sovereign AI Federation — is a vendor-neutral, non-profit association advancing sovereign, independent and interoperable AI infrastructure worldwide.

Mission

A neutral forum for sovereign AI infrastructure.

AI infrastructure is becoming critical national infrastructure. OSAF exists to reduce concentration risk and promote a trusted ecosystem of sovereign AI operators, infrastructure providers, researchers, public-sector bodies and enterprise users.

What OSAF does

  • Develops open technical standards, APIs and reference architectures for sovereign AI deployments.
  • Creates governance and assurance frameworks for sovereignty, security, compliance and trust.
  • Supports knowledge sharing between members through working groups, publications and events.
  • Advocates for policies that support independent compute infrastructure and open AI markets.

Workstreams

Four practical areas of collaboration.

OSAF is built for practical, outcome-oriented collaboration across technical standards, governance, capability building and policy engagement.

04

Policy Advocacy
